WxTV is going to show you weatherization in a remote Yup'ik Eskimo village on the Bering Sea where everything is unique.
The Downloads Are Ready!

We have been fielding many calls and emails regarding our promise to provide downloadable versions of WxTV. Well, the day has finally come! You’ll note next to each video (check the picture above) there’s a link for both Hi Res (960×540) and a Lo Res (640×360) versions. Pick up one, pick up both, it doesn’t matter, they’re free. We only ask that our videos be given proper credit when you show them and that you aren’t using them for world domination or for evil of any sort.

You’ll find the Hi Res version useful for laptops, tablets (if you have the space), and classroom presentations. If you’re into saving space, or want your WxTV videos highly mobile, download the Lo Res version and put it on your iPhone or other Smart Phone device.

If you are putting these on a Smart Phone or iPad, it’s best to download your video of choice onto your home or office computer first, and then sync your mobile device from there.

There’s Still More to Come…

Although the video downloads are ready, there’s a lot more we’d like to make available for everyone. First on our list is a “Learning Objectives” sheet to accompany each video. This downloadable PDF will provide the need-to-know basics for each episode, as well as a blueprint for integrating WxTV with the Department of Energy Standardized Curricula.

Want a Different Version?

If you are looking for something a bit different, perhaps a WMV file for PowerPoint integration, please contact us through our info@wxtvonline address and we’ll see what we can do. There will be a charge for custom downloads.

Thanks for watching – Ben and Vince

Last month we participated in NCAF’s annual conference in St. Petersburg, FL. We were honored to share the stage with David Bradley and Mike Roman, two individuals responsible for setting the funding for WxTV into motion. WxTV got a lot of air time at the conference, we met a lot of great folks who use the show, and discussed countless ideas for upcoming episodes. We’d like to thank NCAF and ExxonMobil for their contribution and hope to continue this relationship for years to come.

Should We Call it Winterizing Again?

We’re not sure how is it in your neck of the woods, but here in the Mountain West it’s getting cold. Negative 3 degrees the other morning means it is just about the right time to release our, “Weatherizing in Rural Alaska,” episode. It’s one of the more exotic bits of footage we’ve shot, an episode you’re sure to enjoy. If you think it is tough weatherizing homes in your region, just try figuring out the logistics of getting supplies to Goodnews Bay, AK…and then you’ll still need to work with the wind and rain ripping off the Bering Sea… Give us a week or two and look for the announcement!

Welcome to our new site… and the very first WxTV blog post!

As you can see we’ve been quite busy during our brief hiatus from uploading new episodes. We’ve taken every WxTV episode, categorized it and loaded it into our database. No longer will you have to pour through every episode to find what you need – simply use the search feature. Search by title, keyword, or even by series (like our Health & Safety Series for instance).

Our main goal was to make things easier and more useful for you, the viewer. We’ve added a blog (you’re reading it right now, in case you hadn’t noticed) and some rather prominent buttons to get you involved with the show. It’s not just about us producing videos and you watching them…we need you to click that button to become part of the show. Trust us, it’ll be fun and educational for everyone.

And if you’re still hesitant about being on camera, than at least click the “Login” button on our home page to create an account so you can receive email updates about the show. Don’t worry, we won’t flood your inbox, just an email here and there to let you know when a new show it ready for viewing.

Hard at Work in Goodnews Bay, AK

Speaking of new shows, you don’t think we’d spend our entire break working on a website, do you? We’ve been hard at work behind the camera too.

To match our website’s visual and feature-rich facelift, we had to step up our game and get amazing footage for this year’s new shows. In the can, and on the way to the website, are some episodes that many viewers have been asking to see. It certainly isn’t everything, but it’ll give you a taste of what’s to come.

Here’s our fall lineup:

Multifamily Case Study – Weatherization of a Chicago High-rise

Weatherization in Rural Alaska – Goodnews Bay, AK

Ten Steps for Energy Efficient Living (Part of our Consumer Education Series)

Air Sealing Technical Short

Side-By-Side Comparison (A new series to compare weatherization materials and products)

Thanks for watching and we’d like to hear from you soon! – Ben and Vince
